Step-by-step guide to table decorations for garden parties

Step 1: Remove the labels
The first step: Collect empty clear bottles of different sizes - e.g. wine, juice or water bottles. Soak the bottles overnight in a container in warm water with a little washing-up liquid to easily remove the labels. The best way to remove adhesive residue is with a drop of cooking oil or label remover.

Step 2: Dry the bottles thoroughly
After removing the labels, rinse well with clear water and leave to dry upside down. Important: The bottles should be completely dry so that no dirt or clouding occurs later.

Step 3: Fill with water
Now fill each bottle about a third full with fresh water. If you like, you can also add a little flower food to keep the flowers fresh for longer.

Step 4: Distribute the flowers
Now comes the best part: choose different summer flowers such as delphiniums, scabiosas, starry umbels or lady's mantle. Place them loosely and individually in the bottles. Different heights look particularly charming and lively.

Step 5: Arrange on the table
Spread the filled bottles loosely across the centre of the table - in an irregular pattern. This creates the impression of a natural, almost wild sea of flowers. Combine large bottles with small ones, narrow ones with bulbous ones - this creates a dynamic effect.

Step 6: Round off with lovely details
Now there's room for the little accents: place loosely folded linen napkins on the plates, tie them together in the centre with a pretty ribbon and decorate them with small flowers from the floral arrangement. This way, the flowers are also reused on the table and the entire decorative concept looks even more harmonious. Candles in jam jars also create subtle points of light, especially in the evening. Small highlights of coloured crockery round off the whole look.

With a few simple steps and a flair for natural beauty, you can transform your table into a blooming summer idyll.
